Company description::
Inadequate signage within a business or public organisation (hospitals, government) can easily lead to inefficiencies and loss of time. Visitors lose their way, end up at the wrong department or get annoyed at the careless way in which crucial information is presented.
Even if signage is often applied during an office move or in a new building – from door signs to signposting and information in the lifts, this will quickly become outdated: staff members get new functions, departments
change size, businesses evolve…

PaperKlix.com offers the organisation a range of flexible solutions, which not only can be changed at any time, but do so without creating a break in style. At PaperKlix.com, customers can buy, personalise and produce their own signage. In this way, their signage system is completely in tune with their organisation’s corporate identity and easy to update as well.

Nowadays, VRT staff members with changed functions or office locations produce their own door signs by entering their details at the VRT zone of PaperKlix.com. They then locally print out the resulting documents. Integral to the PaperKlix concept is a series of clean, clear plastic cases, with which the various signage elements can be assembled and applied nearly everywhere inside a building.

“The solution offered by PaperKlix has helped us define the way we carry out signage at the VRT,” says Sylvain Peeters, chairman of the corporate identity steering group for the national broadcasting company. “By using the
online signage studio, our co-workers can produce their own signage as they see fit, though always in a consistent fashion. PaperKlix offers us uniformity in style and flexibility in implementation.”

At DuPont too, PaperKlix has proven to be a handy tool in
meeting the almost continuous changes in signposting and signage. “Because we are part of a multinational concern, people in our offices regularly change functions,” says Kim Clarke, Marketing Communications Manager at DuPont Refinish. “Though the existing signage may have been specially made by our maintenance service, after a while we did notice we had a combination of various styles in our offices. With PaperKlix we now dispose of a uniform
system which also allows us to easily extend it to other applications. For instance, we are planning to personalise the classrooms in our training centre, so customers always know where they need to be.”

Next to spreading information in an office environment, PaperKlix.com can also be very useful for self-employed professionals (a medical practice for example) or SMBs (for indicating office spaces, showrooms etc.). Francis
Vanheybeeck, responsible for PaperKlix.com offline sales, sees a wide range of possible applications. “It’s not just the facility managers of large corporations that will recognise the simplicity and efficiency of
PaperKlix.com, but other rapidly changing environments such as hospitals, universities or business centres can also adapt their signage quickly and cheaply without sacrificing their corporate identity.”

Promotional Gifts Consultants Expose Their Knowledge Redbows has launched a promotional gifts blog to provide buyers and specifiers with access to information they could require when considering giveaways for their promotional marketing campaigns. The new blog can be found at www.promotionalgiftsblog.co.uk Redbows is one of the first gifts companies to use a blog for this purpose. The company already provides Adobe PDF format guides for download from its main website (www.redbows.co.uk). These tend to cover product ranges such as promotional confectionery and seasonal items like umbrellas. The intention behind the blog is to provide readers with a searchable on-line reference area and the opportunity for feedback and comment. The blog has a select number of categories covering issues such as ‘design and artwork’. Regular posting are made covering key issues that should be considered when purchasing promotional items. These can be made at any time and as soon as a particular problem area is highlighted a posting is uploaded together with links to supplementary information. The blog will also be used to provide general information on the gifts industry itself. Initial postings have focused on various printing techniques and how artwork is generated. There is also a special fun aspect area shown as ‘Cocos corner’ and as Redbows launches new promotional gifts, their product-specific aspects will be covered within a blog entry. For example, the company is shortly to launch a new range of promotional mugs and the merits and drawbacks of plastic over ceramic and recycled materials will be discussed. “The launch of such an industry focused blog represents a further commitment to our clients and the promotional gifts industry itself” commented Dawn Koffler, Managing Director. “We already have good feedback from several clients on its themes and contents with some useful suggestions for the future. We supply a wide range of promotional items and are very keen to see this develop and cover the vast array of information our consultants have access to on a daily basis”.
